How much do hair extensions cost? Price guide for tape and keratin
The price of hair extensions has two parts: the hair you buy and the salon work (fitting, move-up and removal). Here you will find Royal Hair's current prices for tape and keratin extensions at our salons in Majorstuen (Oslo) and Lillestrøm – with worked examples so you can see what the total actually comes to.

In short: how much do hair extensions cost?
- Hair: sold in 25 gram packs. Tape from NOK 1,008 and keratin from NOK 970 per pack (40 cm). Most clients need 4 packs (100 grams).
- Tape fitting: from NOK 2,200 per 100 grams (40 single tapes).
- Keratin fitting: from NOK 35 per bond.
- Consultation: free short consultation in Majorstuen, or NOK 199 for an extended consultation – deducted from the treatment price if you book a fitting within 14 days.
The fitting price does not include the hair. The total price is hair + fitting.
Hair cost: price per pack (25 grams)
Our hair is 100% real Slavic human hair. The price depends on length and method. 4 packs = 100 grams, which we recommend for a natural, full result for most clients. 6 packs (150 g) give extra volume, 8 packs (200 g) maximum volume.

Fitting cost at the salon
Tape extensions
- Fitting of Royal Hair tape: from NOK 2,200 per 100 grams (40 single / 20 double tapes).
- Fitting of tape from other brands that you bring: from NOK 2,800 per 100 grams.
Keratin extensions
- Fitting of Royal Hair keratin: from NOK 35 per bond.
- Fitting of keratin bonds from other brands that you bring: NOK 40 per bond.
The number of bonds per 100 grams of keratin hair depends on the length:

Worked examples: total price hair + fitting
- Tape, 50 cm, 100 g: hair NOK 5,132 + fitting from NOK 2,200 = from NOK 7,332.
- Keratin, 50 cm, 100 g: hair NOK 4,978 + fitting approx. NOK 5,250 (150 bonds) = approx. NOK 10,228.
The final price depends on how much hair you need, the length and your own hair. We clarify this in the consultation.
Move-up (re-fitting extensions)
Extensions need to be moved up as your own hair grows. Tape is usually moved up every 4–6 weeks. Keratin bonds can be renewed and moved up up to four times after the first fitting.
- Move-up of Royal Hair tape: from NOK 3,000 per 100 grams – new tape (refill) included.
- Move-up of tape from other brands: from NOK 3,500 per 100 grams.
- Move-up of Royal Hair keratin: from NOK 55 per bond.
- Move-up of keratin from other brands: from NOK 65 per bond.

Removal
- Removal of Royal Hair tape: from NOK 1,200 per 100 grams (hair you bring from NOK 1,500).
- Removal of Royal Hair keratin: NOK 20 per bond (hair you bring from NOK 30 per bond). The appointment is 90 minutes; each additional half hour started costs NOK 500.
- Re-bonding hair with Italian keratin for reuse: from NOK 20 per bond (hair you bring NOK 30 per bond).
We recommend having extensions removed at the salon so your own hair is not damaged. For use at home between appointments we offer Remover, pre-cut tape and keratin pliers.
Clip-on: no salon cost
If you prefer to skip the fitting, you can attach Clip-On Hair Extensions yourself. From NOK 5,816.25 (40 cm, 150 grams of real hair included).

How much do hair extensions cost?
The total price is hair + fitting. With 100 grams of tape at 50 cm it comes to from NOK 7,332; with 100 grams of keratin at 50 cm approx. NOK 10,228. Shorter hair costs less, longer hair more.
How much do hair extensions cost at a hairdresser?
At Royal Hair you pay for the hair and for the fitting separately. Tape fitting costs from NOK 2,200 per 100 grams and keratin from NOK 35 per bond. Cutting and blending are free when we fit Royal Hair extensions.
Is the hair included in the fitting price?
No. The fitting price covers the work only. The hair is bought in addition, either in the online shop or at the salon.
Which is cheaper – tape or keratin?
The hair costs about the same. Fitting is usually cheaper with tape because it is quicker. Keratin is attached strand by strand and takes longer. Which method suits you best depends on your hair – read which hair extensions suit me?
How much does it cost to move up extensions?
Move-up of Royal Hair tape costs from NOK 3,000 per 100 grams including new tape. Keratin costs from NOK 55 per bond.
How much does it cost to remove extensions?
Tape removal costs from NOK 1,200 per 100 grams. Keratin costs NOK 20 per bond for Royal Hair bonds.
Can I bring extensions bought elsewhere?
Yes. Fitting, move-up and removal of hair you bring have their own prices, listed above.
How much does a consultation cost?
In Majorstuen you can book a free short consultation (15 minutes). The extended consultation costs NOK 199 and is paid when booking. If you book a fitting within 14 days, NOK 199 is deducted from the treatment price. You can also get digital advice by sending us photos on Instagram (@royalhair.no).
How much hair do I need?
Most clients need 4 packs (100 grams). Very fine or very thick hair may need a different amount – we clarify this in the consultation.
