Hvordan Royal Hair-salongene ble til – og hvorfor vi tok en annen vei

How Royal Hair salons came to be – and why we took a different path

It was never the plan to open our own salons.

Royal Hair started as an online store for hair extensions of the highest quality – 100% Slavic, real human hair. We knew that this hair was something completely different from what was available in the Norwegian market. But what we quickly noticed was that many customers experienced problems with the installation itself.

In the past, many people bought hair – but did not get the experience they had imagined. Even though the quality of the hair was high, the installation was often not carried out as intended. Many salons in Norway have experience with tape or larger keratin attachments – usually up to 1.2 grams per attachment – and it works well in many contexts.

But Slavic hair requires a different approach.

Slavisk Hair Extensions is known for having thinner hair strands, while being fuller – a combination that makes it ideal for Scandinavian hair types where you want a natural result with a seamless transition. This is where our special expertise comes in.

The attachments we deliver are handmade and custom-made, down to 0.2 grams per point – especially on the sides of the head where natural hair is often thinner. This gives a more seamless and natural result, and requires both technical accuracy and a good understanding of head shape and hair structure.

Kamilla Jorshery, who currently manages the salons, not only has a certificate as a hairdresser , but also nearly 20 years of experience in extensions and Styling. She has further education and certification in our method, and has today developed a course program that gives hairdressers the opportunity to become certified in the technique we use at Royal Hair .

Because it wasn't enough to just sell the hair

Through the online store, we gained valuable insight: Many people not only wanted to buy the hair, but also to receive guidance and reassurance about the treatment itself .

Since we are based in Norway and have our own warehouse , we could offer something that few in our industry can do: customers can come in for a consultation, see and feel the hair , compare colors and lengths – before making a decision.

We are also the only ones to offer the full range from 40 cm to 115 cm in Slavic hair – something we achieve because we import our own brand directly, without intermediaries. This gives both flexibility and control.

With that, it became clear to us: If we really wanted to showcase this method and quality, we had to do it ourselves – and be physically present for our customers.

From online store to specialist salons

We chose to go from just online shopping to also opening our own salons. Today we have two: one in Lillestrøm, and one at Majorstuen in Oslo . Both have the same philosophy: We only do one thing – extensions – and we do it thoroughly.

A method that requires more – but gives better results

Most people in the industry use tape or large keratin attachments. It's quick and it's cost-effective. But it doesn't necessarily give the most natural result.

We work with micro attachments down to 0.2 grams – a Slavic method that requires more time and precision. That means more attachments, closer work, and more accuracy. It’s not for everyone. But for those who want a solution that both looks natural and is gentle on the hair, we believe this is the best option.

Recycling and economics: why we offer recycling

Unlike many other salons, we do not encourage throwing away hair after a single use.

We offer rebonding, a process where the attachments are renewed and the same hair is used again. Slavic hair maintains its quality over time – and with proper care, it can be used up to five times.

For the customer this means:

  • Lower total cost over time

  • Less waste

  • More predictability and control

Not an ordinary hair salon – and that's intentional

We do not offer hair coloring or other traditional hairdressing services. We have chosen to specialize only in extensions – to become as good as possible at just that.

Many customers appreciate meeting professionals who only work on what they themselves are supposed to have done. It provides security – and results.

A desire to share knowledge further

The demand for our method has been great. That is why we have also developed courses and training, so that other salons can learn the technique. It has never been a goal to “keep everything to ourselves” – quite the opposite. We want the quality on the market to be raised.

A long-term mindset

Since the beginning, the focus has been on quality – both in products and treatment. We know that many people choose extensions because of price, and that's understandable. But we believe that solutions that last longer, cause less damage, and look better are what ultimately provide the most value – both financially and aesthetically.

Eventually

Royal Hair didn't become a salon chain because it was a business idea. It became one because the customers needed it – and because we wanted to do something different.

We believe that is precisely what has made so many people choose us. Not because we shout the loudest – but because we deliver what we ourselves would want to receive.
