How Royal Hair Salons Came to Life – And Why We Chose a Different Path

It was never part of the plan to open our own salons.

Royal Hair began as an online store offering premium Slavic hair extensions — 100% real, authentic human hair. We knew this hair quality was completely different from anything available on the Norwegian market. But very quickly, we discovered a problem:

…but they didn’t get the result they expected.

Even though the hair quality was exceptional, the application was often done incorrectly. Many salons in Norway were used to tape-ins or large keratin bonds — often up to 1.2 grams per bond. This works well for some methods, but Slavic hair requires a different approach.

 

Why Slavic Hair Needs a Specialist

Slavic extensions have thinner individual strands but greater fullness overall — making them ideal for Scandinavian hair types where a natural look is the goal.
Our bonds are handmade and fully customized, going as low as 0.2 grams per strand, especially around the sides where natural hair density is lower. This creates a seamless and natural result, but it demands:

  • Technical precision
  • Experience with micro-bonding
  • Understanding of head shape and hair structure

Kamilla Jorshery, who leads our salons today, has almost 20 years of experience in extensions and styling. She also holds a professional hairdressing license and has built a full certification program that trains stylists in the Royal Hair method.

 

Because Selling the Hair Alone Wasn’t Enough

Through the online store, we learned something important:
Customers didn’t just want to buy the hair — they wanted guidance, quality assurance, and trust.
With a physical base in Norway and our own warehouse, we could offer something rare in this industry:

✔ The ability to feel and compare the hair before buying
✔ Accurate color matching
✔ Immediate access to all lengths from 40 cm to 115 cm

We also import our hair directly under our own brand — no middlemen — giving us complete control over quality and availability.

This made something very clear:

If we wanted to showcase the method and the quality properly, we had to do it ourselves.

 

From Online Store to Specialist Salongs
We transitioned from being purely an online retailer to opening our own salons.
Today, we have two Royal Hair salons:

Both follow the same philosophy:
We do one thing — extensions — and we do it exceptionally well.

A Method That Demands More, but Delivers Better Results

Most of the industry uses tape or large keratin bonds. It’s fast, efficient, and profitable.
But it does not always give the most natural result.
We use micro-bonds as small as 0.2 grams, a Slavic technique requiring time, patience, and precision. This means:

  • More bonds
  • More detailed placement
  • A softer, more natural finish

It’s not for everyone. But for clients who want the most natural, lightweight, and hair-friendly solution, we believe this is the best method.


Reuse and Economics: Why We Offer Rebonding

Unlike many salons, we do not encourage clients to throw away the hair after one use.

We offer rebonding — renewing the attachments so the same hair can be reused.
Slavic hair maintains its quality exceptionally well and, with proper care, can be reused up to five times.

For the client, this means:

We don’t offer coloring, cutting, or typical salon services.
We specialize exclusively in extensions.

This is why we developed training and certification programs for other salons.
We never wanted to “keep everything to ourselves.”
